George began his energy career in 1979 during the second great energy crisis of that decade as Director of Energy for the City of Yonkers. He wrote and implemented a comprehensive energy plan helping to bring the City back from the brink of insolvency.
In November 1982 he joined National Utility Service, (now NUS Consulting Group) an international energy cost consulting firm, where he served as utility rate analyst, group manager and energy purchasing advisor to over 600 of the then Fortune 1000 companies.
In September of 2001, he joined AES/Constellation NewEnergy in Manhattan, where he served in business development and as regional counsel for New York and New Jersey. While there he led this division’s expansion from a base in NYC throughout the rest of New York State.
In May 2007, inspired by his work with renewable energy at Constellation, he joined Iberdrola Renewables, the world’s largest generator of wind power, as their Director of Deregulated Markets pioneering the sale of renewable energy in bi-lateral contracts directly between Iberdrola Renewables and the end-user.
He left Iberdrola In June 2014 and founded his own law practice in Greenwood Lake, NY. George holds a BA in English and Creative Writing from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, Geneva, NY, and a JD with special certification in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law, White Plains. He is admitted to the Bar in NY and NJ and resides with his family in Warwick, NY.
